A group of hundred students of the Faculty of Science of the University of Amsterdam was asked to make an advice for the Instituut Fysieke Veiligheid (IFV) about cooping with the coronacrisis, especially to advice the majors of the municipalities of the Netherlands (Nov 2020).
They focused on how citizens can be made more physiologically resistant and resilient against unpredictable events. The problem was tackled from four different sectors:
- the municipal sector
- the medical sector
- the educational sector
- vital occupations
The students formed four groups, and each group addressed the issue from their own perspective:
- Developing physical resistance and resilience against disease
- Using information technologies in the fight against pandemics
- A road towards a healthier and more resilient society
- Resistance/resilience with regard to COVID-19 in Amsterdam
They made a presentation and paper that served as advice for the “Instituut Fysieke Veiligheid” (IFV).
